Motion Sickness, Sea Sickness, Post Surgery Nausea

Tests have shown that Ginger soothes an upset stomach. Take approximately 1/2 piece of fresh ginger and chop it up. Place the chopped ginger in a cup and pour hot water over it. Let it steep three minutes then drink.

In most cases it will alleviate nausea.

Ginger can fight motion sickness, sea sickness and post surgery nausea.

Ginger's anti-inflammatory effects may alleviate the painful swelling of arthritis.

Ginger Tea - 1/2 tsp. ground ginger added to your favorite cup of tea.

Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids afflict everyone from pregnant women to senior citizens. Witch Hazel can often help those uncomfortable flare-ups.

First, sit in a warm tub for 15 minutes to 1/2 hour. The warm water can help ease the pain of hemorrhoids while increasing blood flow to the area to help shrink swollen veins.

After your bath, apply cotton soaked in chilled Witch Hazel to the hemorrhoids. The Witch Hazel will cause blood vessels to contract.

Problem Sleeping?

One tablespoon of Honey at bedtime will help you fall asleep by producing Serotonin, a neurotransmitter with a tranquilizing effect.

Headaches

Use Willowbark (found in health food stores) to make tea.

Steep one teaspoon in one cup of water for five minutes. It will help diminish pain.

Willowbark contains Salicin, a compound the body converts to Salicylic Acid (same ingredient that is found in Aspirin).

It has been found that 85%-90% of all headaches are caused by tension or stress. Try to reduce pain by putting an ice pack on your forehead. This will constrict blood vessels and should give you some relief.

Tired or Fatigued

A 10-20 minute walk will energize you and help reduce stress.

A brisk walk after meals is recommended to help maintain your energy level.
